VICTORIA, TX (KTRK) -- A substitute middle school teacher in Victoria is accused of being intoxicated in the classroom.

On Wednesday at around 2pm, deputies responded to a classroom at Cade Middle School after students became concerned about 44-year-old Sylvia Reyna, who was filling in for their regular teacher.

Deputies say based on their observations, Reyna was arrested for public intoxication.

During her arrest and booking at the Victoria County Jail, deputies say they found evidence that led to an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance.
