BODEGA BAY, CA -- Authorities confirm that four people died after their boat capsized off the Northern California coast.
Sgt. Cecile Focha of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said Saturday that a fifth person survived the accident. A mariner reported the overturned boat around 10 a.m. off Seal Rock near Bodega Bay, about 70 miles up the coast from San Francisco.
Coast Guard spokesman Barry Bena says a California Highway Patrol helicopter pulled the survivor from the rocks.
He says a Coast Guard boat recovered the four bodies from the water, and turned them over to Sonoma County authorities.
Bena says it is not immediately clear what caused the accident.
