Police identify Sugar Land woman charged in crash on South Padre Island

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (KTRK) -- A 20-year-old Sugar Land woman is now facing a manslaughter charge in a hit-and-run crash on South Padre Island after one of the victims died.

Investigators say Daisy Joy Decker was driving in the bike lane in South Padre around 1 a.m. on Friday when she hit five people.

Police say Decker was arraigned and charged with multiple counts of accident involving personal injury on Sunday.

Decker's bond was set at $130,000.

Selena Patino, 19, died.

Emergency responders arrived within minutes and found three victims in the roadway with what appeared to be serious injuries and two others on the side of the roadway with minor injuries.

The victims ranged in ages from 16 to 22 years old.

Officers said Decker drove off after the accident, but a tip led police to find her.
