12-year-old girl learns fate after high-speed chase in Montgomery County
A girl now knows her punishment for a high-speed chase in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A 12-year-old girl who led police on a chase now knows her fate.



She has been in and out of juvenile custody since the chase down Highway 105 happened back in July. Now that 12-year-old will be on probation for the next three years.

Two girls lead police on high-speed chase, Tracy Clemons reports.


The high speed chase lasted 40 miles, reaching speeds of more than 120 miles an hour.



The dashcam video of the chase shows just what police were dealing with.

Newly released dash camera footage shows a high-speed chase as officers pursed a 12-year-old-girl for more than 40 miles.


Investigators tell us the girl stole her grandmothers car then took off.



In the car is the girl's 5-year-old sister.



At one point, the girl was traveling on the wrong side of a busy Montgomery County road, all of this happening during the afternoon commute.

The chase ended because the car was equipped an with On-Star satellite system and it was able to disable the car in front of Montgomery County High School.



The girl had been released to family members after her arrest but was not living up to the conditions of her release, so she had to go back into juvenile custody.



On Thursday, the girl was sentenced to 3 years probation.
