HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A statue of Martin Luther King Jr. will finally be dedicated in MacGregor Park next weekend.
The Black Heritage Society says it's been trying to build the local memorial statue for 35 years. It finally came to life, but damage to the statue caused the dedication event to be delayed.
Now the statue's hand has been reattached and The Black Heritage Society is planning a big party for next weekend.
For more information about it, visit the Houston MLK Jr. Memorial website.
