Trump lands in Virginia
The Special Air Mission plane carrying President-elect Donald Trump and his family has landed in Virginia at Washington Dulles International Airport.
There's a full slate of activities this weekend ahead of Monday's swearing-in.
WASHINGTON -- The inauguration of President-elect Donald J. Trump will take place on Monday, Jan. 20. Trump will take the oath of office as the 47th president of the United States and JD Vance will take the oath of office as vice president.
This is Trump's second inauguration as president. The first was as the 45th president on Jan. 20, 2017.
Ahead of Inauguration Day, Trump held a reception and fireworks show Saturday night at his golf club in Virginia.
On Sunday, he will lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery and then hold a "Make America Great Again Victory Rally" in Washington ahead of Monday's swearing-in ceremony, which has now been moved inside to the Capitol Rotunda because of frigid temperatures in the nation's capital.

On Sunday, "This Week With George Stephanopoulos" will have a special edition previewing Monday's events.
Then watch a special edition of "Good Morning America" on Monday at 7 a.m. EST, followed by a day-long report beginning at 9 a.m. EST led by "World News Tonight" anchor and managing editor David Muir.
A primetime special anchored by Muir, "The Second Inauguration of Donald J. Trump - An ABC News Special," will air that night at 10 p.m. EST on ABC and the next day on Hulu.

Maj. Gen. John Andonie, the commanding general of the District of Columbia National Guard, told ABC News' MaryAlice Parks that he has "never felt more confident about" about the National Guard's security posture ahead of the big day.
The last-minute move inside the Capitol Rotunda is something that the National Guard members are adjusting to, but he added that their plan is still sound.
"We actually did rehearse several contingencies ... and that was just one of several contingencies we've been looking at. This is not a surprise," he said.

President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet picks have gathered at the National Gallery of Art for an event ahead of the inauguration.
Those in attendance include Pete Hesgeth, Linda McMahon, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Scott Turner and Marco Rubio.
The official portraits of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance were released earlier this week by the Trump transition team.
"And they go hard," a press release from the transition said about the portraits.
Trump and Vance will be sworn in on Monday, Jan. 20.
President Joe Biden will be in attendance as his successor is sworn in, resuming a tradition of American democracy that Trump himself sidestepped in 2021.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos will also be in attendance.
