Just days after former President Donald Trump was projected to have won the presidency, Trump's transition team operation has begun, with transition co-chairs confirming that he will be selecting personnel to serve under his leadership in the coming days.
President Joe Biden addressed the nation Thursday morning, urging unity and committing to a "peaceful transfer of power."
ABC News reports that former President Donald Trump is the projected winner in Nevada. This gives him the state's 6 Electoral College votes.
In Nevada, with 97% of the expected vote reporting as of 12:30 a.m. ET Friday, Trump leads with 51% of the vote, followed by Vice President Kamala Harris with 47% of the vote.
This means Trump has prevailed in the 2024 election in at least 6 of the 7 battleground states.
Trump now has a projected 301 Electoral College votes, and Harris has a projected 226 Electoral College votes.

PA secretary of state says at least 100,000 ballots outstanding
There are "at least" 100,000 votes still outstanding in Pennsylvania amid a tight Senate race between incumbent Sen. Bob Casey and his Republican challenger David McCormick, Secretary of State Al Schmidt said Thursday night.
According to Schmidt, that count includes "provisional, military, overseas, and Election Day votes."
"We urge patience as election workers continue to do this important work, especially in contests where the margins are very close," he said.

Trump announces chief of staff
Donald Trump announced he had selected his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, as his White House chief of staff, the president-elect said a statement Thursday.
President-elect Trump has announced his chief of staff.
"Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns," Trump said.
"Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again," he added. "It is a well deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history. I have no doubt that she will make our country proud."

President Biden has no plans of pardoning son Hunter Biden, WH says
President Joe Biden does not plan to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, who was convicted on federal gun charges, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre reiterated during a press briefing on Thursday.
Hunter Biden is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
