Election Day 2024: Live results and analysis

With projections made in most states across the country, ABC News has projected that former President Donald Trump will win the high-stakes presidential match-up against Vice President Kamala Harris. Early Wednesday morning, Trump secured enough Electoral College votes to set himself up for a second presidency, including by flipping the key swing states of Georgia, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

Beyond the presidential race, voters also hit the polls around the country Tuesday and cast ballots to decide who controls Congress, state and local governments. Reporters from 538 and ABC News followed along every step of the way with live updates, analysis and commentary on the results. Follow our election-night coverage in full below.

Judge extends Pa. county voting hours after bomb threat

A Pennsylvania judge granted a petition in Clearfield County to extend voting until 9 p.m. after a bomb threat targeted an administrative building where votes were being counted.

The judge made an oral ruling and a written petition will be filed in the morning, a spokesperson said.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro confirmed there was a series of bomb threats in the state and said his office is collaborating with local, state, and federal law enforcement in response to the threats.

"Thus far, there is no credible threat to the Commonwealth," he said.

Harris projected to pick up Rhode Island

ABC News has projected that Harris will pick up Rhode Island's four electoral votes. Harris' victory in the deep blue New England state does not come as a shock as polls consistently showed her leading Trump by double-digits.

Louisiana projected to go Republican as expected

ABC News is projecting that Trump will carry Louisiana.

Nothing surprising here as the state has been firmly in the GOP column in presidential races since it moved away from Democrats in the 2000 election.

Harris up in Pennsylvania, but lots of Election Day votes to come

We have about 22% of the expected vote reporting from Pennsylvania, and Harris leads Trump by about 17 points, 58% to 41%. However, her ability to hold onto the lead in Pennsylvania with so many votes left is definitely open to question.

Many of the big blue counties in the state (Philadelphia, Allegheny, Montgomery and Delaware) haven't reported that many votes yet, but the ones they have are, in many cases, mail ballots or other more Democratic-leaning tranches that have Harris doing much better than Biden.

Once we get more Election Day votes in the tally, however, the state will be much tighter.
