
Celebrating big at Houston's Freedom Over Texas July 4 celebration? Here's what you'll need to bring
Houston is celebrating America's 250th birthday at Freedom Over Texas this Fourth of July.
Keith Urban, Los Lonely Boys, and Collective Soul will take the stage at Eleanor Tinsley Park, followed by a fireworks finale. Gates will open at 3 p.m., and the event is expected to last until 10 p.m. Live entertainment will start around 4 p.m.
ABC13 is the exclusive television partner of Freedom Over Texas and will broadcast the event live. Coverage begins at 7 p.m.
If you're planning to attend, here are some things you should know.
What you're encouraged to bring:
- Sunscreen and mosquito spray
- Sunglasses and a hat
- A towel, blanket, or lawn chair for comfortable viewing
- Cash, credit, or debit card to enjoy the wide variety of food and beverages offered
- Portable chargers
- Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing and comfortable shoes
Items not allowed:
- Food or beverages (infant & special health needs allowed)
- Coolers
- Alcohol
- Pets (seeing eye/assistance dogs allowed)
- Glass containers
- Shading devces larger than 4 feet in diameter
- Skates, rollerblades or skateboard, bikes
- All weapons (appropriate state penal codes will be placed at all entrances)
- Fireworks
- Laser pointers
- Drones
- Due to performers' contracts, no professional recording devices (audio, video, camera, and drones) are allowed during live performances. Any person found in using such equipment will be asked to leave the venue. All media discs will be confiscated.
