Violent Kroger attack puts Montgomery County community on edge

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Magnolia community is pretty shaken up by the news of a violent rape of a woman outside a busy grocery store.

Someone is going around to area businesses passing out these flyers, letting people know about the attack and urging them to be aware.

Montgomery County investigators say they're looking for any information that could help them find the man responsible. They say a woman reported being beaten and raped inside her SUV in the Kroger parking lot Monday evening.

Area business owners say the attack actually happened behind the grocery store in this alleyway. It's a much more secluded area. Families are worried that this kind of criminal is on the loose in Magnolia.

"I mean it makes me want to cry, honestly, because around here, I mean, if you run out of gas on the side of the road, you won't go two minutes without three people stopping by and trying to help you, you know? It's very sad," resident Jordan Gentis said.
