GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz apologizes for joke about VP Joe Biden

Texas Senator and presidential hopeful Ted Cruz apologized on social media aft er a joke he made about VP Joe Biden.

HOWELL, MI (KTRK) -- Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz apologized for a joke he made about VP Joe Biden last night.

Sen. Cruz was speaking at a GOP dinner in Howell, Michigan, when he said, "Vice President Joe Biden. You know the nice thing? You don't need a punch line."

Though it drew laughs at the event, Cruz came under fire afterwards since Biden is grieving the recent death of his son, Beau, from brain cancer.

Cruz took to social media to apologize, calling it a mistake.
