HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Will he or won't he?
It is Jeff Bagwell's sixth year of Hall of Fame eligibility, and tonight we'll find out whether or not he will join the Class of 2016.
The former first baseman has a record 449 home runs and a live time batting average of just under .300.
In order to become eligible for the Hall of Fame, you have to be on 75 percent of the ballots. Polling of early voting shows Bagwell on at least 80 percent of those ballots.
The Associated Press reports Bagwell is among other strong candidates including Mike Piazza and Tim Raines.
Ken Griffey Jr. seems assured of election to the baseball Hall of Fame, with an expectation he'll get a record vote of close to 100 percent.
The announcement happens this evening and we'll have more for you on Eyewitness News at 5pm.
