Apple now says it's working on a fix for the so-called "1970" bug in iPhone, iPads and iPods.

If you manually change the date on the devices to May 1970 or earlier, it can essentially brick it.

Apple says it is about to roll out an update to prevent the issue. Apple hasn't given a reason for the bug, but some analysts speculate it has to do with the timeline the iOS system is based on.

According to Wired.com, a iOS users were encouraged to seek out an 'easter egg' that would display a retro Apple logo on your phone.
