Wounded veterans honored at 12th annual Impact a Hero weekend

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Impact A Hero Weekend brings severely wounded, 9/11 combat veterans and their families together with contributors and supporters for a weekend of events.

This Weekend serves as the primary fundraising event for our organization for the year and is not only an opportunity to raise the resources for our programs, and financial aid given to our heroes, but it also provides the Greater Houston area the opportunity to engage in the community and thank our wounded heroes.

Over 50 veterans and their families participate in the weekend to engage with others facing similar challenges, promote emotional well-being by building camaraderie with other wounded military members, as well as receive their much deserved support from those they serve - our community.

Reporter Christine Dobbyn participated in the event, which is celebrating 12 years of commitment by serving, appreciating and embowering wounded heroes.
