Just days ago, three teenagers came face to face with an armed robber in southeast Houston.

"We were going to the family dollar on MLK," said Jayme Smith, 14. "He said come up off that hoverboard."

The teens thought the suspect was joking at first, but then they said the man assaulted Roman Taylor,13, and knocked him off his hoveroard. Taylor fried said he jumped in to help, and was pistol whipped by the suspect who ran away with the hoverboard.

In just the past few days, more hoverboard aggravated robberies have been reported around the country. In Atlanta, there was a report of a 16-year old girl who was shot for her hoverboard.
