Shortly before 11am, police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1000 block of Normandy, near the East Freeway. After a short chase down the East Freeway, things came to a stop at Woolworth. That's when police say shots were fired, but it's not yet known if they were fired by the suspects or by police.

Witness Erick Escobedo said, "I was in my house when I heard about five gunshots."

Escobedo told abc13 that police told him they exchanged gunfire with the suspects, but that hasn't been confirmed by HPD. No one was believed to be hurt.

At least one suspect has been taken into custody. Officers bagged a woman's hands as she was placed in the back of a police cruiser.
