Pregnant woman killed in SE Houston crash, charges likely for suspected drunk driver

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police say a suspected drunk driver was at the wheel when a 19-year-old pregnant woman was killed in a high-speed crash early this morning in southeast Houston.

Her unborn child did not survive.

Also in the car was the woman's 10-month-old child who suffered minor injuries.

The male driver, Houston police say, lost control of his truck turning east in the 6300 block of Mayfair. Police say he admitted to drinking and that charges are likely in this case. The driver, who has not been named, was sent to the HPD Central Intoxication Center.
