Houston's poet Laureate discusses her inspiration

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Deborah "D.E.E.P." Mouton, talks about being named the city of Houston's third Poet Laureate.

Mouton has built a national reputation using her voice to address community concerns and controversial topics.

She's the founding member of the Houston VIP Poetry Slam team and currently works as a high school English teacher, where she says she enjoys teaching young people the art of poetry.
