VANCLEAVE, MS -- Mississippi authorities say a 74-year-old Texas man died in Jackson County after his Chevrolet Corvette was hit from behind.

Deputy Coroner Jason Moody tells The Sun Herald Lucky Everett, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Chase Elkins said troopers were called out just after 3 a.m. Sunday to the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near the Vancleave exit.

Elkins says the Corvette was hit from behind by a pickup driven by 23-year-old Julio Cesar Chavez Gamino, of Irvington, Alabama.

He says Gamino faces a felony charge of DUI causing death.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Gamino.
