Bystanders watched as a hot air balloon crashed into power lines in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KTRK) -- New video shows the impact and explosion when a hot air balloon crashed into some power lines.

The balloon slammed into the lines near I-25 and Montano on Sunday during the Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico.

Officials said that a man and a woman were in the balloon basket. A bolt of electricity shocked the woman, who had to be taken to the hospital.

The condition of both people are unknown.

The power company in Albuquerque reported power outages throughout the area after the incident.

In July, 16 people were killed in Lockhart, Texas when their hot air balloon crashed into some high-tension power lines.
