Homemade bomb found in vacant Webster apartment unit

WEBSTER, Texas (KTRK) -- A suspicious package found at a Webster apartment complex turned out to be a real, homemade bomb.

Harris County Sheriff's Office said the bomb squad was called to the Baybrook Village apartment complex on Bay Area Boulevard Tuesday evening after someone found the device inside a vacant apartment.

Bomb technicians were able to disable the homemade explosive before searching for other devices.

Deputies are working to find out who may have placed it at the apartment complex and why.
