Roof of car sheared off in wreck along 225

HOUSTON -- The roof of a vehicle was torn off in a wreck with an 18-wheeler in southeast Houston Thursday.

It happened near Highway 225 westbound and Scarborough a little after 3pm. Police say the rig's trailer became unattached and hit the Mercedes, tearing the roof off.

A woman was trapped in the Mercedes. Crews were able to pull her out and she was taken to the hospital.

At this point, her condition is unknown.
