Hempstead ISD school bus carrying students involved in crash

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A Hempstead ISD school bus with students on board was involved in a wreck on Highway 290 Friday morning.

The crash was reported around 9:30 a.m., after the bus allegedly failed to yield, and was struck by a Waller County deputy's patrol car.

The Department of Public Safety says there were no major injuries reported, but all 17 kids are still being checked out.

DPS is investigating the crash.
