HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A would-be robber escaped a Harris County convenience store with nothing, but surveillance cameras captured his entire, frightening robbery attempt on video.
Video from September 21 shows the convenience store of a gas station in 100 block of Atascocita Road around 10pm.
The store clerk told police a man came to the counter with some food, but while the clerk rang up the items, the man pulled a gun from a bag. The robber ordered the clerk to fill the bag with cash -- and if he didn't -- the man threatened to shoot two women inside the store.
The clerk said he tried to close a sliding glass door, but the suspect fired two shots at him. Fortunately, he missed, hitting the glass partition.
The would-be robber then fled the scene with nothing.
The suspect is described as a black male, around 30 years old. Authorities say he's approximately 5'8" to 5'9" and weighs about 175 pounds. Authorities say he was clean shaven, wearing black sunglasses, a possible wig and a gray hoodie at the time of the crime.
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and/or arrest of the suspect(s) in this case. Information may be reported by calling 713-222-TIPS(8477).
