HOUSTON, Texas -- A 2-year-old has been reunited with his family after police say he was in an SUV that was stolen from drug store parking lot on Thursday.

An initial tweet from police described the stolen vehicle as a gray 2014 Toyota RAV4. Officers say it was stolen around 9:20 a.m. from a Walgreens at 13196 Bellaire Blvd and Synott Road.

During the search, the child was found by a family on Alief Clodine, which was less than two miles away from the scene.

"He kept saying, 'my mommy, my mommy,' and he would just point everywhere because he didn't know where his mom was," one of the good Samaritans who found the boy said. "The baby had a phone with him and I guess the cops got the number and called and that's how they were able to locate the baby."

The good Samaritans say the child was with them for about an hour before police showed up.

Police say they are still looking for the suspect in the stolen SUV.
