Galveston drug bust: 2 arrested after undercover police probe

GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- A man and woman are behind bars after police say they uncovered a crack cocaine and narcotics selling operation at an apartment in Galveston.



Galveston Police say their undercover probe revealed James Merritt, 21, was selling narcotics out of the apartment in the 7300 block of Heards Lane.



Police say when they searched the home they found Merritt inside along with more than two grams of crack cocaine in baggies, packaged for sale. Alexis Alegria, 20, was also inside the home.



Merritt and Alegria were arrested. Merritt is charged with drug possession with intent to deliver. His bond is set at $40,000. Alegria is charged with drug possession. Her bail is set at $5,000.
