CLOVERLEAF, TX (KTRK) -- A Cloverleaf daycare owner reached out to Eyewitness News after we aired surveillance video Tuesday evening showing a man breaking into the Galena Park ISD Administration building.

The break-in at the school building happened early Saturday evening. The daycare was hit Saturday morning.

Kelly Simon tells us after our story aired, she received a text message from a friend: "Hey look at Channel 13 News. I think the guy that broke into your daycare is the exact same guy."

Simon, who has run Annointed Christian Childcare & Academy in the 13800 block of Longview since 1999, said she was stunned after comparing their surveillance images to the ones from Galena Park ISD's break-in.

"It was that guy, a perfect match," said Simon. "The dark hair, the way his beard was shaved, the same color shirt, jeans, shoes, the way he walked and moved."

The suspect gained entry into both buildings, which are just a few miles away from each other, using the same method -- breaking glass and crawling inside. In both cases, the suspect spent roughly 30 minutes inside, nonchalantly digging through office drawers and cabinets.

While he didn't get away with anything from the church, the thief did steal nearly $2,000 from a safe at Galena Park ISD.

"I want everyone to share (his) picture so we can get this guy caught and get him off the streets," said Simon.

The suspect has sleeve tattoos on his arms and a prominent mark on the left side of his face.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
