HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Funeral services for legendary University of Houston basketball coach Guy V. Lewis were held this morning at Houston's First Methodist Church.

Lewis coached the University of Houston team from 1956 to 1986 and led them to five Final Four appearances. He was one of the first coaches in the south to recruit black players.
He coached Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler during the Phi Slama Jama period in the 1980s.
