Freeport officers find marijuana, cash during traffic stop

FREEPORT (KTRK) -- Freeport Police officers found quite the surprise when they conducted a vehicle stop Saturday night on Gulf Street.

Initially, Officer Freudensprung pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation. According to police, the officer developed a probable cause to search the vehicle and called for backup.

After a search was conducted, officers discovered four pounds of marijuana and over a thousand dollars in cash. Controlled substances were also found.

Both occupants in the vehicle were arrested.
