Whataburger launches new app for easy payment, rewards

SAN ANTONIO, TX (KTRK) -- Whataburger is launching a new mobile app for easier payment and rewards after five visits to the fast food chain.

The app launched Tuesday afternoon.

"Today's digital world is all about efficiency and easy connectivity, and our mobile app is designed to make life a little more convenient for our customers. It also gives us a great opportunity to engage customers in a new, different way in an effort to provide the best service possible," said Rob Rodriguez, SVP of Restaurants in a news release. "Most importantly, the Whataburger app allows us to show some love to our loyal fans with our new rewards program, and we think our customers will especially crave the chance to earn free food."

Customers can get a free order of fries, a cinnamon roll, a shake and other products on their fifth visit.

Mobile ordering is also on the way for 2017, the company said.
