New dessert business in Heights already a hit
Red Dessert Dive has only been open for about five weeks, but business is strong. And its brownie and M&M cookie concoction is on everyone?s minds

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A new dessert and coffee dive in the Heights is gaining popularity.

Red Dessert Dive is located in the 1000 block of Studewood. The business has been open for about five weeks, and has already gained a following on social media and positive reviews on Yelp.

"We get lots of pregnant ladies in here with their cravings," said owner Jessica Lusk. "Every morning they can come in and get a literally fresh out of the oven chocolate croissant with espresso."

Lusk , an architect by trade, decided to open the dessert and coffee business after working in the industry for a year.

"I thought architecture is it, that's what I wanted to do. I practiced for year and did not love it," said Lusk. "I grew up with my mother, she's a home education teacher."

Customers have been coming in for the made-from-scratch desserts and coffee. Red Dessert Dive offers American desserts with a twist.
