MIAMI, FL (KTRK) -- Florida's Miami Jackson Senior High School made history Monday.
The high school named the first ever female head football coach in the state of Florida. Lakatriona Brunson, 38, is a physical education teacher at the school and a former student-athlete.
"I think I'm just more excited right now. Today is historic for not only Florida, but Miami Jackson. After the head coach stepped down, I kinda like took a look and 'Why can't I do it?' and today, it's true," Brunson said.
She's also known as "Bernice" on the reality television series South Beach Tow.
