HOUSTON (KTRK) -- 92-year old Mary Baker finally returned home to her Meyerland house over the weekend. Historic flooding forced the widow out and heavily damaged her property, like many of her neighbors.

Eyewitness News learned early this morning volunteers were able to move Baker back in ahead of schedule on Sunday. Her return follows almost two weeks of around the clock work to repair the damaged property.

The happy ending would not be possible without the generosity of Houstonians. David Weekley Homes along with others like Texas Tile Services donated their time and services free of charge.

We recently caught up with Baker. She said she still can't believe how things turn out.

"If you live long enough, you out live your money, your teeth, your hair. You just get to a place to where you depend on other people," said Baker. "I'm still here and I'm so grateful to so many people. I don't know your names. If I did, I'd forget."
