First three parent baby born in Mexico

A medical first that some people will consider it cutting-edge, while others will find it creepy.

Scientists say the first baby with three parents has been born, using a controversial fertility technique.

Part of the mother's DNA was removed and put into a donor egg from a second woman which was then fertilized with the father's DNA.

The procedure was done in Mexico by American doctors because it is not currently legal in the United States.

The purpose was to prevent the baby boy from inheriting a fatal genetic disease from his mother.
