Family turns in gunman to police after fatal shooting in SE Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man accused in the shooting death of a man at a southeast Houston gas station has been turned in to police by his own family.

The fatal shooting happened around 9pm at the Shell Station on MLK Boulevard at Bataan Road.

Police say two men came into the store and got into some sort of altercation. At one point, one of the men pulled a pistol and shot the other.

The victim was transported by ambulance but died before reaching the hospital.

The shooter fled the scene, but was later turned over to police by his family.

Police are investigating the shooting.
