2 dead after car slams into tree in southwest Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two men are dead after the vehicle they were in slammed into a tree in southwest Harris County.

The accident happened just after 3:30 this morning.

Officers say two men in their late teens or possibly early twenties were driving in a black car on Bissonnet near Eldridge Parkway when the car crashed into a tree.

One of the men was taken by LifeFlight and died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The other man died at the scene.

All four lanes of Bissonnet at Beringswood are shut down as officers investigate.

Deputies say the driver appeared to be speeding when he lost control.
