ROANOKE, Va. -- An off-duty police officer tried to conduct a traffic stop with his two children, but it didn't quite go as planned.

Kenny Bowman, who was still in uniform, was playing outside with his 6-year-old daughter, Rylee, and his 4-year-old son, Blake, after work one day. The two kids were riding around in their toy truck when their dad decided to have a little fun with them.

He pulled them over for a traffic stop for being "too cute."

"Why aren't y'all buckled up?" said Bowman.

But Bowman wasn't prepared for his kids' rebellious response.

Rylee said, "Mind your business."

When Bowman asked to see the kids' driver's licenses, Rylee said, "He has no backup, floor it!"

The two took off while their dad chased them around the yard.

Bowman ended up posting the video online for his friends and family to see, but the video quickly went viral. He told ABC that he had no idea the video would be such a hit.

But there was also an important message in with all the fun and games. "Remember that we want to come home to our families so we can make precious memories with our loved ones so everyone stay safe out there," Bowman wrote in the video's caption.
