DALLAS, TX (KTRK) -- Gov. Rick Perry's office says he's cutting short a business trip to Europe and will return Thursday because of the Ebola crisis in Texas.
A Perry spokesman released no other details Wednesday. Perry had earlier released a statement saying he's been in regular contact with health officials. He's been in England with planned stops in Poland, Ukraine and Germany.
The decision to return came after a third person in Dallas was diagnosed with Ebola. Two health care workers who treated an infected Liberian man who died have now come down with the virus. Both women work at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.
Perry's office says the state Task Force on Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response is meeting Wednesday to discuss recommendations on how to improve responses to Ebola.
