Driver killed in foggy New Year's crash in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, Texas -- A driver was killed in a New Year's crash in far southwest Houston.

The wreck happened on South Post Oak at McHard.

The driver of a Dodge pickup was killed. Police say he was traveling on Post Oak where it dead ends at McHard. The driver continued through intersection and hit a tree.

Police don't know if the heavy fog in the area was a contributing factor or if the driver may have been drinking. The accident remains under investigation.
