Driver leaves woman for dead in ditch after hitting her
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police want to know who struck a woman and left her for dead overnight in southwest Houston.
Investigators say the woman was hit by a vehicle around 9:45pm near a storage facility in the 7700 block of McHard Road at Ripple Ridge Drive.
An employee of the storage facility tells police he saw the victims's body in a ditch with vehicle parts strewn about. He checked to see if she was okay, and noticed she wasn't breathing.
When paramedics arrived, they pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The woman is described as being in her 30s or 40s, and has not been identified.
Houston Police say they do not have any information on the driver or the vehicle involved in the incident. What they do know is that person did not stop to help the victim.
