1 dead and 1 injured in drive-by shooting in southeast Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are investigating a deadly drive-by shooting in southeast Houston.

Police said two people were shot while they were in a white Chevy Malibu on Old Spanish Trail near Highway 288 just after noon.

The victims kept driving and arrived at the VA Hospital about half a mile away from the shooting scene, police said. Once they arrived, police say one of the victims died and the other person was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
