Cy-Fair ISD confirms that two of its students were killed in a car accident on Friday evening.

KATY, TX (KTRK) -- Cypress-Fairbanks ISD confirms that two of its students were killed in a car accident on Friday evening.



The accident occurred on the 7500 block of North Eldridge Parkway around 5pm. Police have identified the victims as 17-year-old Troy Carroll and Reon Woodman.



ABC13 has learned that there were five teens in the car at the time of the accident. At least three of the teens were not wearing seat belts, authorities say.





According to the police report, the driver of the car the students were traveling in failed to yield when making a left turn, and the students' vehicle was struck by oncoming traffic.



Carroll was pronounced dead at the scene, while Woodman was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Another passenger in the car was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.



Cy-Fair ISD released the following statement regarding the accident:



We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of two Cypress Lakes High School students who were involved in an automobile accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of these students and those who were injured. Additional counselors will be on campus as long as necessary to provide support for students and staff dealing with this tragedy.
