2 escape fiery wreck in Montgomery County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man and woman escaped a fiery accident in Montgomery County Friday night when their car crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

It happened around 9pm last night on Old Houston Road. Authorities say the male driver lost control and ran off the roadway.

The woman was able to escape, but the man was knocked unconscious.

Witnesses were able to break out a window and pull him out before the vehicle caught fire. He was taken to the hospital by medical helicopter in critical condition.

At last check, the woman is in stable condition.
