RIO LINDA, CA (KTRK) -- An 11-year-old girl this week used CPR to save a boy's life at a pool party in Rio Linda, CA.
At her friend's 12th birthday party, Skylar Berry spotted another friend at the bottom of the pool.
That's when her summer camp training for CPR kicked in. Skylar checked the boy's pulse and began applying the technique, knowing it was the only way to save the 12-year-old's life.
The boy survived with Skylar's help. News10 reports he was overwhelmed by the experience and doesn't want attention, but he returned to school just two days later.
Now, Skylar is teaching CPR wherever she can. She recently taught kids in her school's sixth grade classes a hands-only or sidewalk CPR.
