CONROE, TX -- A much-anticipated, newly expanded Veterans Affairs clinic in Conroe will be open for patients starting Monday, though medical staff has already seen a handful of patients at the new location.

The new 30,000-square foot facility is a step up from the previous 7,000-square foot clinic, officials said, especially with a slew of new resources for area veterans. According to U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady, R-The Woodlands, this new facility has been in the works for almost a decade.

"I'm so excited for our veterans and their families to have these extra healthcare services so close to home," Brady said. "This clinic, which is triple the space and truly high-tech, will offer our veterans more doctors, state-of-the-art audiology labs, laboratory tests on-site and for some veterans the biggest benefit will be more parking."
