CHICAGO -- One man's long journey of defying the odds is serving as a big inspiration for people around the country.
Just seven months ago, Cole Thomas was told he'd never walk again. On Friday, he walked out of a Chicago rehab center.
Thomas, of Rochelle, Ill., was paralyzed in a car accident last September. Less than a week later, he entered the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab.
He graduated from the lab with the support of family, doctors, nurses and fellow patients.
