CHANNEVIEW, TX (KTRK) -- A man is behind bars after deputies say he impersonated a police officer in order to sexually assault a teen girl.
Cecil DeWayne McAfee is accused of forcing a 16-year-old girl into his vehicle on October 15 around 4:30 in the morning.

McAfee allegedly told the girl he was a police officer and that she was in violation of the county curfew ordinance.
Investigators say McAfee then drove the girl beneath the Crosby Freeway overpass near the San Jacinto River and sexually assaulted her.
The victim allegedly told investigators her attacker never showed any police credentials before she got into the vehicle.
Child Abuse investigators received several tips about McAfee, leading to his arrest.

Detectives say he was positively identified by the victim and witnesses. The vehicle he drives was also similar to the vehicle used in the alleged sexual assault, according to deputies.
McAfee is now facing charges of impersonating a police officer and aggravated sexual assault of a child.
