BRENHAM, TX (KTRK) -- The case of a veterinarian who posted a picture on Facebook holding a cat with an arrow through its head is going to the District Attorney in Austin County.
Tuesday morning, the county sheriff told us the investigation had been complete and it was forwarded to the DA for charges of animal cruelty involving a non-livestock animal.
Kristen Lindsey was fired last week from the Washington Animal Clinic in Brenham. On her Facebook page, which was later pulled down, she wrote, "My first bow kill- the only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through its head."
Lindsey did not speak to sheriff's investigators, but she has hired an attorney.
The DA may turn the case over to a grand jury. The charge carries up to two years state jail time if there's a conviction.
