HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Crews spent hours overnight cleaning up after an accident involving an 18-wheeler and several other vehicles.
It happened around 10pm on 288 inbound at Airport exit ramp.
Houston police say the big rig was carrying a Tilt-A-Whirl carnival ride when a woman driving a Lexus cut off the semi. The driver of the 18-wheeler slammed on his brakes, but he was unable to stop in time and hit the woman's car.
The driver of the big rig then lost control, and the trailer tipped over, causing parts of the carnival ride to scatter across the freeway.
The woman in the Lexus has minor injuries and is in the hospital. The semi driver was not hurt.
Up to five other vehicles were involved with minor damage. The accident cleared around 4:45am.
