HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The AdvoCare Texas Kickoff game between LSU and BYU has been moved to the Superdome in New Orleans.

The game was originally scheduled to be played in NRG Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 2.

Kickoff for the game is still set for Saturday at 8:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.

"First and foremost, we are keeping the citizens of the Houston region, and the thousands of first responders, in our thoughts during this very difficult time," Pete Derzis, ESPN senior vice president of college sports programming and events, said in a release. "Over the last 72 hours, we have been in constant contact with all entities involved, including our partners at the Lone Star Sports & Entertainment, the SEC and both institutions. Ultimately, the decision was made to move forward with the relocation.

The cities of Dallas, Jacksonville, Nashville, New Orleans, Orlando and San Antonio reached out to host the game.

Tickets will be refunded and processed by the outlet it was originally purchased through, including each school, Lone Star Sports & Entertainment and Ticketmaster.
